Really nice work CR. Great design and layout. I think we're going to be seeing more and more coloured glass splashbacks and less and less tiles in kitchens. I recently popped up a small one (above wash basin) in my place - supplier insisted on low modulus silicone to fix - is that the spec. you advise with this? Or did you use something different?

the kitchen inbetween those 2 howdens kitchens was an allied kitchen. they supplied blum clip on hinges as standard. but then wanted something daft like 300 quid for soft close mechanisms as they termed it. i bought the clip on blum buffers from ddm components for 30 quid and the client was more than pleased

Allied as in Allied Kingswood? If so that does surprise me for that charge!

It is Julian, in fact the glass splashbacks are made up by my brother as he owns a glazing factory, so splashbacks and glass worktops I always get him to make them up for me. It's so the silicone doesn't eat into the painted backs. Same will mirror adhesive

yes allied kingswood. im sure they said soft closers werent in that range. yet the hinges were clip on blum hinges. it was annoying like. they wanted to supply new hinges and soft closers.

There are Benchmarx all over the country with more opening all the time. I infact i've supplied a couple to people up north through our account. Even if you don't have one that's close, most of the time delivery can be arranged.

I get good discounts with them so I can always supply the kitchen to customers cheaper than the Wickes instore price. Depending on the kitchen, savings to our customers can be anything from 10-30% in addition the units are pre-assembled rather than flat pack like Wickes. So a saving on install costs too.

Absolutly 1st class job. I would like to have the glass splash backs like that in my kitchen but I will have to make do with one bit behind the hob.
Does anyone know where I can buy handeless door like Colour Rebublics?

There was a little bit of leveling with rapid set before the membrane went down but the subfloor wasn't too bad. Originally there was to be UFH then of course an SLC but it got scrapped in order to bring the kitchen in on budget. So I installed a nice new chrome rad instead.
