Sadly all discs are kept 200 miles away in our other factory.

you could try this and perform a system restore to last time it worked once booted into ERD Commander

Right.....I had no luck with the lap top and was told by others to leave it to the experts. So they have got back and taken it back to when it last worked properly. Apparently it was because I had downloaded Windows PowerToys and after 5am??

Any ideas what it is anyone as I do not.

Thanks for all your help so far :thumbright:

no idea what after 5am is... windows power toys sounds like adware as i believe windows 7 comes with the official windows power toys integrated into the OS.

I gather it is after 5am that I installed it which is rubbish as I rarely see 5am let alone fire up the work lap top then!

That is what I gathered but I cannot recall downloading it and the IT guy sounded annoyed that I downloaded it?! Oh well, hopefully when I get back to work today all will be hunky dorey!

Thanks for all your help Dave :thumbright:

It does seem weird that we are based on two sites in the UK, over 200 miles apart, one IT person and all disks kept on one site.

Probably not enough work but maybe someone else who has another role but has some knowledge and a set of discs just in case.
