Please could you post a screen shot. I'm not at my machine that has the RAID array at the moment, so this is all from memory.

An initialize disk box has drop down

Do I want MBR or GPT

thats master boot record or guid partition table

FYI GPT supports volumes over 2TB, so is worth having for future expansion etc.

When you create the partion choose quick format. Label the drive as RAID or something obvious.

You should see a black bar for the new drive. Right click and choose new simple volume. Go through the wizard, assign a drive letter and quick format. We may need to finish this tomorrow. Hope that's ok.

Sounds like it's all done - well done!

If you look in Computer you should now see D, which is your RAID drive. Tomorrow I'll post a screenshot for you to compare against so we can be sure it's all setup correctly. Then we can plugin your spare disk and start moving over your files.

Got a drop down box to say view files in windows explorer. and it shows as new volume 1.81TB :thumbright:

I assume I can close all the open bits now.

Please can you post a screenshot of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, like the one I've attached to this post. Please can you also post a screenshot of the drives that are visible when you click Start -> Computer. I want to check that everything's setup correctly before we continue.
