Hi Guys,
I'm in need of some help.
Novice at work :)
I purchased a single oven tall unit, not thinking about recess size for the oven I wanted. I've modified the shelfs in height to fit a double oven the width is fine, its just the depth im not to sure on how to measure.
If I measure the shelf the oven would fit on its 495mm but if I measure from the front of the unit to the back its 562mm. How much of a gap does there need to be between the wall and the back of an oven? The oven I want to purchase the depth is 550mm.
Any advice helpful in any form.

all of the ovens are made to fit inside a standard carcass. it is immaterial of what you have done to the cupboards because they are the same depth so it will fit. the units with doors are made to fit with 600mm worktops.

sorry that was a short answer.
Depending on the unit and adjustable legs you should find the adjustable legs have tabs to one side, postion these tabs underneath the side panels of the unit for support.
