Blum hinges - retrofit?

Post by davemulheran »

Hi all... does anyone know much about BLUM soft close hinges and drawer runners?

Our kitchen we are refurbing has PONY MFI soft close popper things screwed to the carcases.. they are rubbish!

Do BLUM do a universal hinge assembly with built in soft close mechanisms that will fit?

my hnges are the standard hole in door, hinge semicircle placed in this hole and screwed in. then the two screws to hold the hinge to the carcass.

I also have 2 drawers I would like to make soft close also

would like to renew all for BLUM if poss

viable?

thanks

Yes, no problem. I use this firm which are good prices Dead link removed by admin

The hinge, plate and soft close come separately and clip together. Get the clip on hinges as these make life easier for hanging. Check your carcase thickness as you need to select the hinge plate to suit the thickness.

As for drawers you will see they do the Blum runners or box kits Dead link removed by admin
If you need a bit more advice give the guy a ring as he is very helpful.

They are who I use. Just another option for you.

Being proper architectural ironmongers they do more than cupboard hinges and a lot of the staff hold professional qualifications relevant to the trade.

ive ordered the clip on soft closers before from the company dewaltdisney recomended. iirc they delivered the following day so i was well happy.

the company that supplied the kitchen id fitted wanted something like £200 for soft closers. 15 in total. i got them for somewhere in the region of £20 and that all made for one very happy coustomer.
