Hitachi

Firstly, C7SB2 Circular saw.

1670Watts
60mm capacity
4.6kg

When it arrived i was very happy, nothing like the smell of a new powertool being started for the first time!!

The case, nice simple blow mouded affair, a nice snug fit and reasonably large carrying handle. Room to hold the fence and a spare blade and spanner inside. Supplied with a reasonable general purpose 24t thin kerf blade.

The base is a nicely cast alloy, the guide markings are nice and accurate, it tilts to 55dergrees, so cutting out of square corners is easy. The height adjustment and angle adjustment are also nice and chunky so easy to operate. It also has fine adjustment grub screw to ensure the base is always returned to 90degrees after an angle cut, assuming its set up properly once! There is also enough room to be able to line the blade up with marks easily.

Spindle lock makes for very simple blade changing.

The motor is very powerfull, barely notices even when cutting on full capacity, and for heavy users, brush change caps are located on the body for ease of changing.

Blade covers and guards are also metal.

The only down side i have found is theres no adaptor for dust collection.

Had the privilege of using the 24v sds, Good drill! more grunt than the bosch but not as much as the panasonic

Good thing with the hitachi is, not much chance of it getting lost in a loft space, with that errr nice illuminous green colour.

Hitachi also claim to have the most powerfull 18v combi on the market. Would like to get me hands on it and give it a try! :-)
