Updating Drivers

What is the easiest way for a novice like myself to keep my computers drivers up to date.My system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit with Service Pack 1 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-1FK.Recently installed "Tempro" from Toshiba which searches and provides updated drivers in a zip file/folder but my problem is how to open these and how to install the new drivers from the files.Sent a help message to Toshiba about this but still waiting for a reply.Anybody give me a simple solution for simple me to understand?.

Double-clicking the zipped file(s) will cause them to be 'unpacked' and saved in a given location. Windows should also open another box showing you these unzipped files and you can simply click on the appropriate 'setup' file.
Sometimes the action of unzipping a file starts an automatic 'run' function so you don't need to do anything.
Unless you find a problem with your PC then I find continually updating drivers a PITA and it often doesn't noticably show any improvement so I tend to restrict updAtes to once every two/three months.

For most PCs it's only a video card driver that has any great effect on operation. Of course the usual AV and OS updates are done as/when the relevant programs dictate.

The only driver updates that I do are the ones that come with Microsoft updates. That way you know that they should be perfectly OK for your particular computer and OS. Video cards should 'call home' occcassionally to check for their updates. My Nvidea did last week and offered an updated driver. Funnily, MS offered me the same update an hour later before I had time to install the download from Nvidea.

win 7 on my laptop gets Important Updates, then more updates & updates again
-security updates - I'm glad I got a bigger hard drive to cram all them updates in eh
