Re: Forum Down
I've had some very slow pages too...but not sure if it's just this site as a few others are struggling too, but not the ones I visit regularly

Re: Forum Down
I'll get the server re-booted in a couple of hours.
If anyone is online at that point the site will be unavailable for 10 mins or so

Re: Forum Down
It's been ok for me for weeks, but yesterday someone struggled getting on and so it could be time for a re-boot before it stalls completely!
There are so many things that can affect the site that it is almost impossible to pin point where any problems are. Today my broadband connection dropped out three times at home and each time I thought the server had crashed

Going slow at times
Lost the forum altogether for a few minutes, (10:32am) with an error message saying it had been re-set.

Re: Forum Down
I emailed support last night at about 12:01am and sent them this-
can you please re-boot this server in approximately 2 hours or more from now? By this time the forum should be quiet as most people will be in bed.
The forum seems to be getting a bit sticky at times and so a re-boot might help!
Thanks
Kind regards
chez
So what did they do?
They re-started the server 10 hours later, when everyone has been to bed and logged back into the forum

thescruff wrote:Perhaps you should be more specific and say reboot at exactly 02:00 am please.
If they were UK based I would do. But as they are in the US 02:00 over there is not a good time for us.
My ticket was submitted at-
Client Opened Ticket on Tue Nov 8 18:49:54 EST 2011
They replied-
Technical Support Responded on Tue Nov 8 19:44:22 EST 2011
We'll go ahead and reboot in about 2 hours
Then they decided to reboot it at-
Technical Support Responded on Wed Nov 9 05:35:27 EST 2011
Your server is now back up and working fine. Please check it now.
Which was 8 hours after they said they were going to re-boot it
