I am looking at tiling a small area using black mosaic tiles. Is there a preferred brand for black adhesive and grout and possibly silicon?
Someone suggested using a glue gun as alternative to adhesive. What would you say?
What thickness of grout should I use for 8mm tiles?
What about beading or edging? I reckon I ought to be neat enough when applying grout. If not is there a black silicone around?
I have attached photos of tiles and surface area for reference.

Re: adhesive for mosaic or other fixing method
black quartz mosiac....
have they a coating on the back...ask where you bought them, they will advise re:addy grout..
i have been using ardex latley,so i would recommend ardex x32 stone adhesive for them and their grout for stone/mosiac...using these two will help stop any moisture/water ingress into the tile(staining)...
or bal ptb stone addy/mapei one to....
all set in 3hrs and you can use them to smooth over the wall to get level, cos if that wall aint level/flat,..then them mosiac are going to look crap on the wall...
you can use a mosiac trowel 3/4mm ribbed anything bigger the addy will push through between tiles and will be a pain to clean, use your grout float to pat the mosiac onto the wall keeping them level, place spacer pegs between them, then when set remove...
re:sealer ask where you bought them..some do some dont(depends on quality off them)imo i would use one....aquamix/lithofin/ltp/fila/hg/universal...
enjoy...

Re: adhesive for mosaic or other fixing method
dont forget when fixing mosaic tiles, small ones,always..always start fixing from the top off the wall working down the way..keeping an eye on any slippage.
you can also use panel pins to help with them..

Re: adhesive for mosaic or other fixing method
........Don't do as one of our 'old and not had any further work from us' tilers did. Fixed a vertical band of slate mosaic and put a board up against it and the wedged it from opposite wall with one of my hand made 'one off' architraves which the pr1ck cut down to size!
All the mosaic had slumped the following morning. I was most astonished when I walked into work to be greeted with the bodge.
