You don't need to use bolts for solid worktops. But you will have done them now.

In situations like this ( I know I am a bit late ) I usually make a template out of 5 mm mdf .. not as expensive as timber lol.
Once I get the template perfect , just lay the pieces on top and cut around em never failed yet on awkward cuts.

cheers I did consider using ply/mdf but it was the profile on the front edge that I couldn't get my head around ... I wrongly assumed that it would still match using a jig on square edged worktop
In hindsight it was a large piece of wood and I could have had a play oversized before cutting to the size required ....
still trying to salvage the worktops which is possible but will never look right to a trained eye but will have to do ( a term I hate to use) the mitres are about 20mm out either side of the corner hob worktop ...
almost there but disappointed with my result
