Tearing my hair out..Internet explorer issue..
Been having nothing but techie problems this week, Having sorted out the Mrs. laptop, thought about time I ran CCcleaner on mine..
..so deleted cache/temp files unwanted cookies etc, ever since every time I open IE8 after about 10/15 mins I get this rather annoying voice...telling me how to clear my cache & cookies..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MTIn-sz ... e=youtu.be
Any Ideas how to get rid???
(Suggestions that include "Turn off the sound" will be ignored....)

I havent used any MS products for a while but never seen anything with voice prompts telling you what to do. Why not get rid of IE and get Firefox or Chrome? Are you sure you havent been ripped? Root should give the full SP (I havent a clue what SP stands for)

I use chrome and fire fox, Firefox I find slow, chrome is ok but I can't get on with multiple tabs....IE8 I mainly use for forums..

Seems like it could be the Google Toobar Notifier http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/e-8-an ... 63865.html
Go into internet explorer >tools >internet options > programs tab > manage add ons
find the addon under the Google group that is called Google Toolbar Notifier BHO and disable it.

Re: Tearing my hair out..Internet explorer issue..
If it is not an option in ccleaner..
Go to your search box type - run (some versions of windows you can just type msconfig straight away)
In new box type - msconfig
Click on - start up
Uncheck any suspicious looking programs to stop them starting at boot time (all are reversable)
Restart
If that does not work you will have to find a program called - hijack this. You will then need a lot of patience to search through everything on google.

Re: Tearing my hair out..Internet explorer issue..
Thanks for the advice, took the easy route...upgraded to IE9..I should know in the next 15 minutes or so whether that has fixed the problem..

Check that it hasn't enabled again. In IE9 click on the cog icon in the top right corner, then choose Manage add-ons. Look throught the list and check it's disabled.

Re: Tearing my hair out..Internet explorer issue..
As Rich suggested, person in the last post here had some success by removing the google toolbar:
