No wonder the idiots are going bust.

Had a gift card with about £10 left on it for ages, thought i'd better get it used before its too late.
Get Cars2 for me boy. Looked on their website, £12 Sent the wife into town to get it.

£17 in the high street shop

Ridiculous.

can some one please tell me what the sense in giving someone "gift vouchers " is ???
you force someone to waste money on a poor purchace loosing money at several points
you give them money for a voucher the company get 3% interest for a few months
the recipients get poor value and looses money first because at best they can find an item at exact value at worst a poor exchange
in general people loose 20 to 100% off value because they cant find an item off use

I have never been keen on HMV vouchers, barely anything I ever want.

However, this (last)year, I was specific about for where I wanted them from. Worked out well.

Just looks like youve put a little more thought into the gift rather than just stuffing a £20 note in a card.

Always remember the first wife, saves all the unwanted presents and re-cycles them the following year. Still does by the way.

My step-daughter gave me £25 in M&S gift vouchers for xmas. Couldn't find anything I wanted, so I sold them to Ms Gadget, and bought some booze with the cash...

Had a family thing that we only spend X amount of pounds as the limit and strictly no cash.

I usually end up with some bald head related material (grow your own hair kit, hair extensions, book of famous hairstyles, etc) - funny.

The missisisisisis family have always gave each other money. She usually gives her brother 20 quid, he gives her 10.....

the trouble is "a bit more thought" just means pandering to modern shopping methods where no thought goes into anything :dunno:

i like scruff dont do xmass to any extent i just look after my freinds and family all year round

I used to love HMV growing up - going to buy all my playstation 2 games there - now I look and see how expensive they are and I bet if I wasn't such a robot/sheep I could have got them for half the price from other places! Thank god for online shopping and price comparison now :p

Local government is doing everything it can to accelerate the decline of town centres as well, mainly by making it very difficult or ludicrously expensive to park. It's always cheaper and easier to go to an out of town shop or order on-line. If it wasn't for my local optician I wouldn't go into town at all, there is zero incentive to do so.
