Had these fork legs hanging around in the man cave so thought it was time to get the polishing gear out,after 3.5 hrs work one is complete.
they have turned out ok for a amateur

Funny enough one of the mods the XJR owners do is convert the front end to USD's usualy from a R1,cant understand why they dont just buy a sports bike

Buffing wheels and soap?

Dirty job, worked at a place with a full time polisher, give him stuff to polish up after weve cut, bent, drilled, welded, and generally kicked about.
I like doing it, but only for about an hour a year

My mother always said i was different but i find buffing on the machine relaxing.That fork leg took me over three hours to complete the only down side is the muck I always end up looking like a miner
I wear a boiler suit,woolie hat,dust mask,googles and gloves and the muck still gets everywhere
Mrs Canny lays down the newspaper with strict orders to stand there and dont move,then she has me strip off before i enter the house (good job the garage has a entry door into the kitchen)

Right chaps remember last week i was getting them for legs polished ready for sale,I bought them off Ebay a couple of years ago from a private seller for £45 and have been sat in a box in the shed
well have a look at these photo's and give me your opinions
does this look like a crack to you,I think it is
six hours polishing to get off the corrosion and paint wasted i think

Disposable overalls are good for polishing.

They are ally? Certainly looks like its on its way doesn't it.

The lines heading out seem to extend past the obvious cracks. Looks like they've had a tough time.
