Ryobi cordless stuff is always getting a mention/recommendation on here, i don't know why because they are absolute rubbish tools.

If anyone is daft enough to go and buy these tools, can i just say, go and try them out first, actually get them in your hand and marvel at the plastic horrible rubbish you are holding.

It appears to me the biggest selling point is you can use one battery for multiple tools, all the good makes do this, the problem you have with Ryobi, is that you will continue to buy gash bare tools that feel like they should be in a 12 year olds starter set.

they are great for diy and any body short off money starting up in a trade you simply use them till you can afford a better tool or until they break :thumbright:

My brother in law has a Ryobi drill/driver and I used it once at his house and was not impressed.

A guy that I work with has a few Ryobi cordless tools and from what he says they are ok, but he did say that his Ryobi circular was not very good and would really struggle on a kitchen worktop, so I made this using my Dewalt.

But then again you get a lot of people that don't like Dewalt for one reason or another.

I have a ryobi kit, and for the price I paid, it's brilliant.
Never used a cordless circular saw before, but now I won't go back to the mains one unless I have to, same for the jigsaw. Maybe if I were cutting worktop, but i've never done that yet, and don't see that i'll need to any time soon.

Some parts of the kit were a bit crap. The vacuum is not great.
And have to say that the combi drill is totally useless drilling into brick. Other people say it's ok so mabe i've got a dud or super hard bricks.

As a DIY user, I would just nevr consider buying half of these tools at the Dewalt/Bosch price range as they are just not worth it for the amount of use they will get.

Angle Drill Driver (no way I would have bought one of those, but i've used the ryobi one a couple of times)
Circular Saw(I have a corded one that got used about once a month if that, but not at all since buying the ryobi)
Jigsaw (I have a corded one of these too, used even lesss than the circular)
Corner Sander (I have two elbows full of grease)
Combi Drill (I have a hammer drill and an SDS)
Vacuum (Just use the dyson)

NoCads aren't suited to my level of usage, I knew when I bought it that I'd have to go Lithium at some point, but knew that with these tools I could do that no problem.

As a whole package, I paid £115 for the above 6 tools with 3 batteries and a large carry bag.
At that price it was definately worth it for me.
At the above price for the two piece kit, I'd probably think twice and definately look up how much I'd pay for pro rated versions of those tools.
I am not a pro.

Been happy with my Ryobi kit over the years. I reckon they're up to doing 90% of what can be done with a "pro" tool at three or four times the price.

Just waiting for big-all to find an offer on Ryobis which includes some Lithiums so I can start transitioning over to them!

do you mean the dust buster or the wet and dry ??
dust buster size is ok for cleaning up after drilling holes for the dust that has missed the envelope

which combi drill are you having trouble with ???

my angle drill comes today from folkstone fixings ffx £32
already have the dewalt 18v and the bosch 10.8v so couldnt justify the 60 t0 70 sqid but liked the 32 lol
hope i am not dissapointed i like the idea off the rotating battery as with the dewalt it can get in the way and limit its operation :dunno:

Just a quick update, Decided to give the combi drill another go with a new drill bit, and it worked.

Not sure if it is the different bit, or the different brick that made the difference, but at least I know it works :)
I am not a pro.
