Kids & Football In cul de sac

Now why do kids presist on playing football in a cul de sac where there are windows, cars and garage doors. Saturday we had the ball hit the window twice, hit my car three-four times, my nans car twice, the garage door twice and our neighbors car three times(she parks outside her front as she has spino something so she can't walk far). Apart from this possibly breaking windows denting garage doors and cars, this is annoying as three of us have dogs(us who dont have kids under 16(I don't have any I'm 21)) So the noise of it hittng the windows and garage doors sets the dogs of.

Now there is a green down the road and a part next to the doctors, which is about 10 minute walk, so why not go play there were nothing can get damaged. Now I can see why the parents don't want there kids going by there selfs but why not get of there arse's and take them there self. Surly thats the whole point of being a parent is to take your kids out and not just sit on your arse and let them do what they want.

Our neighbor told us that the company that built the house had to replace the garage door as the little poo had dented both of the doors kicking the football up it before we had finished purchasing. Our neighbor told the kids of about this, and when the parents heard, this one women started being really nasty to our neighbor because she parts outside the house, when the other neighbor went other and said to her why you being so mean about this all she did was tell you kids to stop kicking the ball at the garage and she parks there as she ill and had cancer, she turnt round and said oh well no more than she deserves. We were only told about what the women had said the other day as we were talking about the kids and the ball and she was asking us to house sit, I was disgusted at this. I can't believe anyone could wish illness espeacialy cancer on anyone.

If that isn't bad enough sunday they decided to use the power flu as a drum. Sorry for such a long post but it just winds me up how kids think it's acceptable to play football in such an area and how the parents don't take responsibilty for there kids and how someone can be so mean to another human being.

Some neighbours can be a real pain in the arse

You might be able to get the council to put up a sign saying "no ball games"

I would get the neighbours together to get a petition. Then take it to the council or even the local papers? Plus the sign - no ball games may help.

When you say a partition, a partition for what exactly. UHM you say about living on a farm but my aunt and uncle bought a house with about 9 acres attatched in the country, but the thing is the villiage green is next to it and the parish coucil decided instead of using football goals in the middle they would put metal containers(like you see on shipping boats) backing onto there garden/fields so when they miss the container it goes into there garden/field and when it hits it scares the sh*t out there horses. Then the kids decide to go in the field after the ball and my aunts worried that if they go in and the horse or horses get scared and kicks one of them they will be the ones who will be sued.

The other thing that has just started happening is people are now cutting there grass and instead of applying to the council for free brown bags there tipping it in the ditch at the end of the cul de sac, the bins go tommoro. By the way when I say the ditch at the end of the cul de sac, the cul de sac is open ended so you have a path at the end which runs down the estate and some house and flats running down it but they have a court the other side if that makes sense to park and access the houses aswell.

He said a PETITION not a partition, where you make a statement that you want the council to install a 'No Ball Games' sign and the undersigned agree to the request.
Then get all your neighbours who don't have sprogs to sign it with their name and address.

I don't do to back considering I'm dyslexic. I think the petition maybe an option but the problem is the majority have kids and can't see them agreeing as this is how they want it as then they can just let them out and let them get on with it. Also I don't think the council has adopted it yet or will adopt it as we pay a management fee yearly

To me I think it is just a culture change. When I was a kid on the weekends and school holidays I would be out from first light until it went dark. These days parents are so afraid of rapists, kiddie fiddlers etc (I'm sure there was the same amount of them as there was when I was a youngster) so they won't let their kids out of their sight so they wont let them go to the park 10 mins away. As soon as the kids disappear around the corner the parents are calling the kids mobiles to get them back home.

exactly my thoughts its no more dangerous than it was with the exception off the motorcar and the roads its just better reported
if we only hear about one child 200 miles away people panic and wont let the kids out off there sight
if say one child is abducted every month over say a 12 year out door childhood[4-16] thats 144 children so with around 20 million children at any one stage thats around a million to one chance off abduction as they wont hit the same area more than twice now we need to remember very few abductions result in the worst outcome

Absolutely.

This wrapping kids up in cotton wool nowadays is just stupid. Some people get all out of shape over kids playing in fields on account of them being among dog chods (not condoning not picking up after your dog) but we used to play on a mates farm, and landed in cow-pats more often than not. Did us no harm at all (apart from having to go home smelling of cow do)

And contrary to popular myth, paedophiles do not hang around on every street corner.

thats just parents being selfish
they dont want the disruption or damage to there property or the kids in there hair
i bet they never play outside there own door if the road is long enough

........I know I annoyed Mr. Gallon next door when I was practicing Tennis at 11/12 years old against his wall...Not to mention putting in a couple of windows with a football.....
