Splash Back tiling

I am soon to tile my kitchen splashback.

Do I tile down right to the worktop or do I leave a gap and grout it or silicone it?

I'd leave a gap the same size as the grout line and silicone it. I'll wait to be corrected too

Thats the way I do it, but like you say, Bob, ................but I'd still do it the same way!!

Straight off the worktops, and then once grouted, a bead of silicon

I'd leave a gap using the tile spacers, this will make it far easier if you ever decide to change your kitchen worktops.

Leaving a gap seems to make sense to me, like brianb says it would make replacing the worktop in the future much easier.

I use a bit of cardboard but spacers are good, sometimes straight off the worktop, depending on the tile, a handmade tile i'll always give myself some tolerance as they aren't square..ps try not to grout the gap left as it could interfere with the silicone finish aesthetically
