We have a patio area with two different shades of terracotta tiles at our holiday home in Spain.
Ideally we would like to paint them the same colour.
Is this a bad idea due to peeling or if it is possible, can anyone suggest a good paint to use.??
We will be driving down later this year so could take it with us. Thanks.
Exterior terracotta tiles.

Re: Exterior terracotta tiles.
Terracotta is not the sort of product to be painted, as it is a highly porous product.
You're also probably not going to get a decent looking finish unfortunately, as these are the colours the terracotta has been made in.
Sounds as if you've had tiles from 2 different batches, as discolouration is a common factor between different batches.
Your best bet is to re-lay the floor, Terracotta is quite cheap in spain, and you're guarenteed a decent looking floor afterwards!
If you are dead set on painting them, you're going to want to apply a couple of coats of thick, heavy wearing paint, and try to avoid the grout lines.
Hope this has helped.
