Windows 7?
Windows and M - Minimise all windows
Alt and Space - top right menu (resize, move, etc)
Windows left arrow - snap right
Windows right arrow - snap right
Windows and up - maximise
Windows and down - minimise open window
Windows and R - Run
Windows and E - open Explorer
Windows and P - display output (projector / monitor, etc)
If you have an application open, Alt and F - file menu, Alt, E is edit menu.
If you see a key in a dialog box that is underlined, it's ALT and that key to select.
blar blar blar
There are loads of combinations, search for more.

Arguing with a woman is like reading a Software Licence Agreement.

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
If I'm not busy I find it quite fun to respond to these calls with a few inappropriate questions.
"First can I ask you a few questions to verify your identity?"
"What is your favourite large vegetable?"
"In regards to underwear do you prefer lace or satin?"
"Would you rather be lashed by andre the giant for 12 hours, or scrub toilets 16 hours a day for 3 months"
"Can we have our ball back mister?"
Had someone genuinely answer about 20 of these once before telling them I had a mac and hung up, I don't know why I find it so satisfying.

Reckons there's something wrong with my computer, and I should type "eventvwr" in the search box
I did keep her talking for over 10mins, before telling her about the interesting stuff on google I was reading

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
These guys were on Panorama and they also tried getting my Granddad involved. I used to sell computers for a job and it is completely stupid. Even if they show you anything on screen, it's fake programmes built to show you something that is never there anyway.
Keep away

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
Anyone that generally calls you trying to sell you something is usually a scam - wether that is saying your computer is faulty or your phoneline is going to go off for repair and to keep it running you got to pay X amount. Swear at them and they wont bother you again.
People really need to wise up. Those that do not know much about computers generally have a better cleaner working computer i.e. a person in their 60's who uses it just to browse the net etc etc will have a smoother running machine than a 13 year old who will download games a long with add ons and lots of spyware and even viruses which causes a machine to clog up and be slow as hell or make the computer non-functional!
Because you dont have much knowledge on something doesnt mean you should think someone else is right and pay them for something which isn't needed, do your own homework! Its like you call some tradesmen they will say you need XYZ doiing when you dont!

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
Funnily enough noddy both parties are just as guilty.
Kids at least on the whole have a half a clue what they did before it "broke"
Oldies are *usually* the worst offenders for claiming - it just happened, never did this before *you* touched it, modern rubbish, more trouble than its worth; I didn't download anything yada yada yada.

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
No! In my experience "oldies" are sort of afraid to do it in case it goes wrong. My neighbour has an ipad 2 and doesnt know how to use it, I'm clueless with those, but its very basic things she dont know.
i.e. her router went bust and she went maplins and they told her she needs a lot of extra crap and an expensive £60+ router. Yet she was a virgin media premium/long time customer and they sent her a new one for free

I'll agree to disagree with you noddy.
The issue is the ignorance and for many its wilful ignorance, they choose not to learn and just blunder through without making any effort at all, instead of reading what the little window is telling them i.e. RTFP (Read The Fscking Prompt)

Re: SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO ME ?
Yes but the point is and very important point, when you get spam messages i.e. a false virus scan running saying you got a virus. Many people fall for that as it looks like the real thing and clicking x to close it doesnt always work until you click several times then another message comes up saying are you sure you want to close.
I do agree with what you are saying, but what can you do eh. Like I say when someone rings you up or approaches you saying something too be good true 100% it is a scam. It is 100% as in todays economic climate it is hard for too good of a deal to be found.
