I think you said the PC lasts about an hour before crashing... I found this in the M4 firmware release notes:

Correct a condition where an incorrect response to a SMART counter will cause the m4 drive to become unresponsive after 5184 hours of Power-on time. The drive will recover after a power cycle, however, this failure will repeat once per hour after reaching this point. The condition will allow the end user to successfully update firmware, and poses no risk to user or system data stored on the drive.
This firmware update is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for drives in the field. Although the failure mode due to the SMART Power On Hours counter poses no risk to saved user data, the failure mode can become repetitive, and pose a nuisance to the end user. If the end user has not yet observed this failure mode, this update is required to prevent it from happening.

I have saved the firmware for a minute.

If it helps Rich the computer runs for more or less an hour, then the clock stops, as does everything else, then it crashes with the blue screen.

if I use the re-set button it has no HD in 00 and I have to boot from the disk or power down and back on.

Re-boot straight away and it will last for another hour.

Had a stop: 0x0000007A yesterday, but it's back to F4 now

Read that Rich so I'll go for the firmware update and see what happen.

Seems like it could well be the issue fixed in the firmware update. I'm not familar with updates on the M4 SSDs, but backup any critical data on the SSD and follow the steps in the user guide http://edge.crucial.com/firmware/m4/000 ... _Guide.pdf.

To be on the safe side, do a full power down of the PC and turn off at the wall, then back on to reset the one hour window.

Firmware updated successfully

Wait and see what it does at 17.07.

Good news. I'll check back later for the 17.07 update.

I just open the update and it did it all without me, just had to agree the licence and the usual blurb.

Even turned the computer off and booted back up.

The computer seems much faster.

I suspected that drive from the start and looked at replacing it.

Fingers are still crossed.

In Advanced system settings>start up and recovery>settings.

I changed the Kernal dump to Small memory dump (256mb)

Should I leave it or change it back.

Good news that it's still working after one hour.

The computer might be faster because I think the firmware update included performance enhancements.

You can leave the memory dump setting as it is.
