maths question/how many boxes of tiles calculation
i know i probably should know this but cant get my head round it so someone mathematical who can work this out for me would be doing me a great favour.
Area to be tiled is 12 square metres Tiler says to buy 14 square metres to allow for wastage. The tiles are 600mmm by 300mm and you get 5 in a box. How many boxes do i need? Am going to order and dont want to get it wrong!

Re: maths question/how many boxes of tiles calculation
Use the calculator here http://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/calc/sl ... 2445/3074/
I used this firm recently and the calculator was spot on but I added another box to be sure. Ended up with a box over The prices are good and they deliver using their own vans.

Re: maths question/how many boxes of tiles calculation
0.3x0.6= 0.18 sqm x5= 0.9 sqm per box
14 divided by 0.9=15.5 boxes 15 boxes = 13.5 16 boxes =14.4
sale or return 16 no sale or return 15
remember iff you have a border then deduct that amount and several spare tiles are a must
