bathroom- how high to tile?

Post by klunk »

I'm about to tile a bathroom with 150 mm tiles, and I really don't want to go right up to the (uneven) ceiling.

Is there a rule-of-thumb gap to leave?

I thought a foot would look best. (less of a bodge)

I don't know if 150mm would look like I didn't have the skills to finish off.

Or, if I go right up, should I silicone any irregularities? (could be over 10mm)

Cheers.

If you don't go right up, then about 2-3ft up from the bath, or to the shower rose if you have one

I would go right up.

Then I would mask up from the lowest point in a straight line, then run a thick bead of silicone to give the appearance of levell, 10mm isn't that much over 1700mm (bath length)
