Wood effect ceramic tiles

Has anyone had any experience with wood effect ceramic tiles?

Sounds a bit pointless I know, but it's come up as a consideration for making the best of underfloor heating.

I'm wondering what they actually look like, best brands and costs etc.

i've used them in a few kitchen and bathroom at customers requests. the reason they chose them was down to the fact they liked the look of laminate but didn't want laminate near water.

personally i thought they looked ok but everybody will have their own views on preference.

We got a range of wood effect tiles to us called Sierra, they look awesome. 1M long planks, 165mm width - porcelain tiles as well.

They look great when you lay them in a staggered effect, we've got them in the front of our showroom and they really do come in looking like a nice natural wood with all of the knots etc.

Had somebody order some of these for an outside sauna room earlier today and going by the specs it'll look awesome. Hopefully we'll get some pics.

The single grain tiles DTW has look sound. I've seen some where they have a multiple block wood effect on a single tile and they look atrocious Pooneil

I believe there a little cheaper than the single plank effect but just don't do it mate!

Yeah they do look awesome.

Our rep has them in his lounge with **** UFH, it looks awesome.. will have to get him to send some pics to me so I can show you guys!

That was exactly my thoughts when the wife suggested them, but apart from the wear issue they will conduct heat from UFH much more efficiently.

I'd love to see some pics. What size joints do you need, doesn't the grout look odd?

haven't got pics yet unfortunately, I can get some of our showroom if you wish.

We lay them in a staggered pattern with a 3mm grout joint, using grey grout. They really do look amazing when done properly.
