Hanky don't get T-Cut get a proprietary polishing compound like FeraClay I think No3 should be fine or many others, T-Cuts not that good.

not yet, away for weekend and work monday morning, so i have the afternoon to rack it up, fit the armoured locks, touch up the rusty bits and load up the tools...........never get it done in an afternoon

a mate of mine works for a company that makes measuring machines for engineering

car companies are investing huge amounts of money in machines to check the surface integrity of the engine components because they want to make them to an exact tolerance

they want them to do just over the mileage of the warranty then give up

I would not buy a high mileage anything, there is a reason that high mileage vehicules are cheap and cost a lot to keep on the road

oh and I love my low mileage SWB Vivaro

and its quicker than owens Transhit

i have bought high and low mileage vehicles, and so far the high mileage stuff has been far cheaper to run than the low mileage stuff.

Problem with this theory is many warranties are time-based, not mileage based.
If one make had a repulation for breaking at say 65k miles and the warranty was at 60k, then customers would either stay away from that make entirely, or upgrade warranty to unlimited mileage and get a free engine befoe they sold it on.
I have a Toyota and extended the warranty to 5 years and chose unlimited, so any built-in failure after 60k would be costly for the makers, not me.
The Honda V-Tec engine has apparently never had a failure, so maybe best to stay Jap!

I also wonder how many low-mileage vans have done a lot more then the clock shows? At least with a high mileage jobby, you are far more likely to be geting what you think!

I have had less problems with a high miles van than low milers.
The Combo, new head at 70k, Escort, new engine at 75k, new gearbox at 77k....... Partner, new powersteering pump at 147k

Depends how its been treated i reckon, id never buy an ex hire vehicle

I'll be looking for a new van in the next few months, Mine has a cracked windscreen (not in drivers view) leaking radiator (fixed with radweld and should be ok in the cold weather) plenty of rust (was going rusty when I bought it, but could not afford a better vito at the time) and a couple of other small faults.

I'll be looking for a vito again as I can swap the roofrack straight over.

I think I'll go to the auctions this time as you save a hell of a lot of money compared to buying from a garage.

what about the new starter motor and doesnt your central locking not work

mines never gone wrong

, i.e. cost me nowt in 18 months other than 1 mot passed no probs

ok, new starter motor, that was £50. and the lack of central locking is really beginning to p*ss me off now

but if you count depreciation, all my high mileage vehicles have been far cheaper to run than the low mileage ones.
