Different worktop materials

Hi all.

We are buying a new kitchen, old one to be pulled out on Sat. (No rush to install new, not in the house yet)

So we went along to B&Q got a design done etc. Really liked the wooden worktops, which are very expensive but you get what you pay for!! also go very well with a Belfast sink.

Has anyone ever fitted a worktop using different materials to make a nice wooden work surface e.g. scaffolding planks sanded down etc?

Hi, You said it, You get what you pay for! Wood looks great with a belfast sink. With these sinks great care has to be taken with the sealing, and the cut out, as the edges are exposed and must be protected.

have you tried diffrent suppliers for worktops? you could get your units from bnq and go to a worktop supplier for the tops

I really don't like wood block worktops. They do look great... to start with.

Give me a decent laminate any day.
