Hi,
I know this may seem a little unusual, but I was wondering if someone could please give me some advice?
I need to fit a second oven in the kitchen, as a temporary measure, Is it possible to fit a single oven housing on top of an existing kitchen worktop, if extra batons are used to securely fix the carcass to the wall & work top.
Also would I need to drill the worktop behind the new oven carcass to allow air circulation.
The reason being, I am going to replace the whole kitchen in the next 18 months & just want a temp solution without ripping the whole kitchen apart.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Oven housing on worktop
it would be too high to use..
can you remove a 600 base unit and put a cooker housing in, if needed you could put that 600 you remove ontop of the worktop, wont look too good tho

Re: Oven housing on worktop
Is that not the same as putting a 600 mm cooker carcass on top of the work top & we are not talking about a lot of difference
between a tall double oven unit measurements.
I have a knackered back so I want something eye level not low down

Re: Oven housing on worktop
I think it would work better with a sideways opening door, a drop down door would make it awkward and slightly hazardous removing stuff from a the hot oven.
I would remove the lower section (about 100mm) of the oven housing to drop it down closer to the worktop, leave a couple of inches below the shelf the oven sits on, that is where the oven usually draws in air for ventilation (via a vent in the plinth).
It won't look pretty.

One day it will all be firewood.
