We have purchased two tall pull out larders which are 2150 plus legs high, this gives approx 3cm between the top of the unit and the ceiling.
As i can't get access to fix the units to the wall from the top whats the best way to achieve this?
There is a panel approx 6" wide halfway up the back of the unit which i could screw to the wall, but i'm thinking fitting at the top would be best as once open there will be a lot of weight trying to topple it.
Its a plasterboard wall, carcass backs are thin board except for the 6" wide center strip which appears to be fixed to the main 18mm carcass with dowels.
Cheers.

Re: Fixing a tall pull out larder unit to the wall
It's usually best to fix from the sides of units. can you not use some form of brackets inside the units, and fix to the timbers behind the plasterboard, or if drylined walls, fix through into the masonry behind.

Have you got decor panels going either side? Of so how thick are they?

Re: Fixing a tall pull out larder unit to the wall
I would think the 6" panel at the back is to fix through, (hard to say definitely without seeing it but it sounds normal), find the studs and fix to them, also fix to any adjacent base units and wall units
Another option, find the studs and fix a batten to the wall above the top of the unit, screw through the top of the unit to the batten from inside the larder unit.

One day it will all be firewood.
