Is it ok to store my power tools in one of these ?

I just don't have enough room to store all my power tools in my boot, so wanted to put them in my bedroom in one of these, is it a good idea?

you could but the boxes won't last very long, at lot of these boxes are in bits if you look at them the wrong way
for power tools you need something that will take a bit of abuse, the boxes pictured above are fine for storing stuff up in the loft but for storing power tools they will be broken before you know it

Have to agree with Village ,mine are stored in the stanley mobile tool chests, just remember to place them in rather than drop them in,protect any exposed blades and coil up the leads so they dont get knotted together when you want the one from the bottom
A bit late but B&Q had them on offer for £20 but i think it ended today

are the recycle bins any good where you come from ??
in this picture are 3 recycle boxes and 3 boxes you have the recycle with a board on top will take your weigh the otheres wont

they are around £5 if you cant convince them it was stolen

The shorter 16" or one of the hard base bags may be better if you have more than one.

Also has the advantage that if you need the tools inside, they're easy to cart out to the car.

thanks biker girl 6-7 years on its a much improved but still very messy shed
now i have a 4kw wood burner insulation and 12mm ply inner skin and a 3 layer torch on felt on top
along with other improvement space and practical wise

every one should have an escape where they can watch tv and just play hands on with whatever they are in to to relax and get useful ideas whilst doing something relaxing and hopefully usefull

have a look for some euro boxes, they are heavy duty and stackable

they are the same as toolstation use for all there stock

Just going to put power tools which are already in their boxes except angle grinder in there. Didn't think about hand tools. seemed too greasy for a box in bedroom. Won't carry box out to car, just use it to keep stuff in room.
