Corner unit query

Post by Pooneil »

Is there any reason why I can't fit a 600mm door on to a regular 1000 Hi-Line corner base unit?

I can't see why I can't move the center post, increase the void in the corner and buy a 600 door to fit...

Howdens rep says no. :dunno:

I don't see why you can't, I modify units all the time, you will just end up with a bigger 'lost space' gap in the corner

Your only problem is covering the holes where the centre post was, a couple of push in caps will do the job

Thanks

Slight misunderstanding, it was 'no' to a standard corner unit with a 600mm door because they don't do one in the range we're looking at. It was the wife that spoke to him; I've spoken to him this morning and he's happy to supply what ever we ask for and we can adapt it however we choose. :thumbleft:

Again talking crap! The carcases from Howdens aren't range specific. You have an 1100 unit with a 600 door on (from any range) or you have a 1000 corner with a 500 door on (from any range)

Is their something else about the corner unit which is unusal? What rage are you looking at and what colour are the carcases?

Oh hang on, you saying you need the extra void space because you have an obstruction?

No, just wanted a 600mm door from the corner. It's the Saponetta range.

So the 1000 Hi-line corner base unit (that measures 1131mm wide) should come with a 600mm door?

I've fit 600mm doors on corner unit before, so I thought it was strange he said no. I don't think he's talking crap, I think we've confused each other. :-P

The 1000 base should come with a 500 door, you need to space it 131mm away from the wall to allow enough space for the adjoining unit and corner post,

If you want a 6oo door and move the post you will need to have a 231mm gap from the wall

Sorted out the confusion... a carousel unit we didn't want anyway. :thumbright:
