Self Levelling compound

Post by ChefRobleeds »

I'm looking to tile the utility room floor of my house, it measures perhaps 1m x 2m.

The floor is currently concrete, painted with floor paint. It is very unlevel, with variations of approx 5mm in height across the majority of the area, then one corner drops maybe 10-12mm from level.

Am i right in thinking the best way to fix this would be to use self levelling compound?

Anyone used it before? I'm a DIY amateur but quite confident, is it easy to use? Any obvious mistakes that can be made with it?
