really? are they like any good? one of my mates has a ryobi one. (tenner bet big all has one too haha) when i fitted his bathroom a while back he looked for it but couldnt remember where he had put it so i didnt have a try.

hi been using a gun for years the best bar none in my opinion is the cox
take full size 400ml tubes

full metal under a fiver great flow controls, positive stop ,
i always put smear of copper slip on the rod and never have a problem with sticking even after its been wet

last with heavy use 3 to 4 years

tried others just all ways go back to the cox

As above. Can't beat them. mine has a metal spike on the side that folds out to pierce the foil on gripfill tubes.

had it for donkeys years.

Cox for me too,well it was until the brother-in-law borrowed it,this thread has just reminded me to ask him for it back

At the last count I had 6 silicone guns and still struggle finding one most of the time!

I have a couple of cox ones but I bought some large tubes of damp proofing cream from a seller on ebay and the kit came with a silicone gun and a drill bit.

The silicone gun is the best I have ever used, It’s an Everbuild power pro, I was so impressed that I bought two more guns. One for the van, one for my workshop and one for my garage

Maybe you could give one to my plasterers as they don't own one... don't carry grab adhesive for corner beads either... or corner beads... don't have any worklights either and certainly not a heater. It's a good job they never turn up up 'cos when they do it costs me a fortune just so they can get on...

Stupid thing is that there is only about a day left for a couple of guys. I haven't paid the others yet and the few tools they did bring are still on site... Their work was good, but I don't know how they make a living.

plasterers are mad... weve had a smack rat (reformed apparently now living at her majestys pleasure i beleive) he was sh*t hot at plastering though coulda made a fortune if he had his head screwed on propperly. we then had a gambling addict who would turn up or not depending what he had won or lost the day before. then a proppa pure charver man like. he was alright. then a ex army lad who claimed to have been locked up on almost every night out he had ever had.

when we do plastering we normally staple the beads to the boards. works a treat.

Oh so it's not just the jobs I've been on, then? Last year we had the dipso plasterer who had DTs until he'd sneaked out to his van at brew time to oil himself, the team of scousers on a pressure job who'd refuse to do a mix after 3pm (this was a 6 to 7pm site) and so got docked all the time and two, or was it three who came, did the job and went AWOL, uncontactable after a few days to a week leaving their tools behind them. Amazingly all these guys were actually good at their jobs.... Anyone want to buy some secondhand plasterers gear, or tiling stuff (we had some of them, too.....)

Cox ones seem to be the best- although you need 2 as one has always been "Borrowed" by the electrician or someone else!
