I have just tanked the shower area (800mm x 800mm) and it's now ready for the tiles to be fitted. My plumber is eager to fit the power shower, so I was thinking where the best place to start the tiling. Should I:
1. Fit the shower tray and tile & grout up from the bottom so that the plumber can come in at fit the power shower
or
2. Not bother fitting the shower tray yet and just tile and grout the area the power shower will be going, that way the plumber can come sooner and get his part of the job done
Thanks
Andy

Power Shower......
You better leave the grout to cure for a few weeks prior to using the shower...or use an epoxy grout...
Check your grout mfr instructions for ......Power Shower!!

Re: Where to start tiling?
There is a grey latex (?) liquid which can be used to paint over plasterboard or plywood before tiling to form a water proof layer.
What is this called? Brand names? Where can it be bought?

Re: Where to start tiling?
Fit shower tray and back fill between its tapered edge and the wall with silicone.
Tile, making sure the tanking is suitable for the combined weight of adhesive, tile and grout. (Some tanking systems are only capable of supporting a minimal weight).
Leave grout at least 24hrs before installing shower screen and silicone to internal corners around tray, ceiling and shower screen. Read instructions for shower screen, some are silicone inside only, some outside only and others are inside and 150mm up the outside.
Leave a further 24hrs before having shower installed. Get plumber to test it up into a bucket. Even though some grouts are a minimum 24hrs before manufacturers recommend use of the shower, I tend to advise my clients 2 weeks if they have another bathroom.
