Royal Mail - No post in 10 -14 days!!
So for the last 10-14 days I have had NO mail, not even junk mail, for the first week here mail everyday without issue, since then....nothing at all.
Called the delivery office "no issues, nothing here, could be a delay elsewhere" (yeah right...a delay....via a blackbag at the side of a sports pitch perhaps??)
Called RM customer service, just as hopeless, someone will look into it...sometime within the next 5 or so working days..."our postmen don't steal".....funny mate several locally have been fired / are serving time at HM pleasure for mail theft / deliberately delaying the mail.....
Annoying as waiting on letters from the bank, DVLA, shower kit and other stuff to show up....
Unsurprisingly....it'll likely show up in one heap all of a sudden......
Used to support RM, now take the view it should be shut down not sold off due to the culture of "its too much like hard work" and a culture of thievery and incompetence (had mail for 6 doors up the last time I received mail, so thinking either the postie has swiped the lot or just stuck it through someone else's door to save on walking.....)

Re: Royal Mail - No post in 10 -14 days!!
Yesterday was my first delivery of mail for 2 weeks but that was because the roads here were impassible with the snow, no bin collections either

Thought it might have been the snow on the front steps, however asked the delivery office and told no mail waiting despite nothing appearing for days on end, neighbours haven't mentioned anything about no mail, so seemingly I get the joy of having my stuff "relocated"....

Re: Royal Mail - No post in 10 -14 days!!
Yeah so do 3/4 of the street (most of them way louder than my dog) and she doesn't eat mail and is inside when the postman comes, though she does bark when mail comes hurtling through the door at mach 5.
According to RM customer service no markers on my address and no service issues showing, so its went to investigations.
Delivery office (town of ~6K people so small office) didn't mention anything either.
So I'm stumped as to whats going on tbh.
Cheers Scruff, might need that. See what happens, last time this happened (at another place) I got about 8 weeks of mail over 2 days....one piece was postmarked from months before...
I could have understood if they had said "your path was too icy" or "the regular postie is off sick/injured but the post is waiting for you down here"

Re: Royal Mail - No post in 10 -14 days!!
So 2 WEEKS of mail turned up today along with one bitchy postwoman "those steps were lethal last week, couldn't see the steps, I could have broken my neck, no wonder you haven't had mail in 2 weeks" Funny the steps were cleared early Saturday...today is THURSDAY, mail was delivered on Tuesday AND Wednesday, only reason it got delivered was because I kicked off with head office.
So needless to say complained loudly to the SO manager and will be sticking it in writing to RM and perhaps postcomm.....
SO manager: we were expecting you to come in about your mail, - well I phoned tuesday and his dimwitted staff told me there was no mail for me there.....
useless, utterly and totally useless. beyond the realms of common sense to use the back door? Stick a car through my neighbours door? Look up my number in the phone book? no intiative.....seriously....Not to mention the grass is flat straight across from the street to the front door...though that would mean walking 5 to 10 feet extra....something that postworkers and their union contracts are keen to avoid...work...
RM needs shut down and their staff summarily fired, too many have a serious entitlement complex, "I can't be fired" mantra and it stinks, most courier companies manage as much or more work with less staff....
Give Fedex the resources of Royal Mail and the results could be impressive.....instead we have a militant 1970s bunch of lazy so and so's charging the earth for a service that frequently is at best poor.
Some good staff but far too many are lazy and only in the job because of who they know or their "union contacts".......

Re: Royal Mail - No post in 10 -14 days!!
Shame it hasn't happened locally Al, they claim to be working hard, yet manage to stick stuff through wrong doors, frequently on wrong streets, take an age to complete their rounds (despite moaning they are forced to "run" more like snails pace), drop "private and confidential" letters on the street and fail to notice, walk around in torrential rain with mail out so its drenched by the time it gets through the door.
Its also the attitude, even parcelforce have a better customer service standard, fedex and DPD better still....RM see the public as a cash cow to be milked, rather than a customer base to be respected........
Shame as RM could do so well but choose to be "difficult".......
Not to mention the extortionate rates they charge, its almost cheaper to courier some stuff than mail it, I once sent a letter to the USA, the reply letter was twice the weight, sent from a rural area and cost 1/3 as much to mail....RM excuse "its not comparable"....how is it not?? letter goes in mailbox, someone picks it up, puts it in a van, goes through sorting offices, arrives in delivery office, post person takes it on a round and delivers it...in fact...USPS should be more expensive due to the topography and distributed population, yet frequently charge less and deliver stuff more reliably seemingly.....
