Normal sand/cement screed drys at 1mm/day
How thick is your screed?
Tiles laid with rapid tile adhesive can be walked on next day.

2 inches (50mm) isn't really enough for standard screed - that generally needs to be about 70mm
You'll need something special like this, not going to be cheap though

I posted the same link for that deep base compound the other day...I then read the first review 'a really strong smell of rotten eggs after laying' Wonder if his mate had a bad stomach and was blaming it on that levelling compound

Ok cheers Darrenba, I just wanted to find this out because I've just bought a house and we also have our rented house for another 6 weeks so obviously the ideal time to retile the floor is before we move in then again It's something I'd rather put off because although the existing tiles are not great they will be ok for now and I can put off spending on floor tiles for 6 months or more.

I'm tempted to buy a bag just for that. The missis will think it's a bag of potpourri compared to me!!!!Wes wrote:I posted the same link for that deep base compound the other day...I then read the first review 'a really strong smell of rotten eggs after laying' Wonder if his mate had a bad stomach and was blaming it on that levelling compound
