old kitchen unit door hinges

Post by peterpan01 »

hi,

i have taken off the old plastic hinges to replace them with metal soft close ones. However i found much to my annoyance after buying the new ones, that the plastic ones have left a larger hole than the new ones to screw into(the carcass of the unit that is not the door). So i cannot screw the new hinges onto the unit because the hole is too big!

what can i do? no nails? woodfiller?

any help would be great

cheers

Something like this, if it's for the carcass.

One day it will all be firewood.

cant you use the old screws in the new hinges or buy the grub screw to fit the hole 5mm . or is the hole bigger than 5mm?
