Help needed from the IT Gurus

Post by sparkydude »

Simple one for most of you probably,

Have installed google chrome to use the auto translate fuction, but on ebay.de it only translates the front page and not any further pages ??

Also would like to move the nav bar from the right to the left as i have done with firefox, but i am struggling to find how to do it .

Please be kind with me, a lowly sparky LoL

Does the same thing happen with other sites or is the problem specific to this one?
Does it manually translate the further pages?

I'm an IT nerd (hmmm) but regretfully not sure what you mean about the navbar in Chrome. Can you elaborate at all? A default Chrome install has nothing except a vertical scrollbar on the right edge.

As for the translating, I can't figure out why Google Translate isn't doing it as you'd expect, I can only think that not enough of the page is "German enough" for it to think it's eligible for translation.

Try installing the Google Translate Chrome extension anyway:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... ihphalngjl

(If you don't want to click the link, go to Tools > Extensions > scroll down and choose Get more extensions, then search for "translate". It should be the second option).

From then on you can click a button to force a translation if Chrome doesn't do it for you.

make sure you got the google translate extension installed. should give a button like this.
google translate.PNG
google translate.PNG (40.39 KiB) Viewed 2470 times
if you have the button right click go to options nd you can check the boxes and add german to english as a default translation as well.
