Rare vintage sewing machine-for sale
Mrs W~O has inherited an old Jones sewing machine, originally owned by her grandmother..
Whilst I'm aware that none of the regulars on here are likely to be interested, I thought I'd post details anyway..
You never know who's going to stumble across this thread..
Anyway, all in good working order, most of the manual is intact (Tatty)
Comes in it's own cabinet (Original)
Due to the weight Buyer collects

I can see the attachments, there could have been a permission set incorrectly in the ACP.
Can you see them now?

It is, sadly there isn't a great market for sewing machines (even vintage/antique) perhaps I should try selling it in China???
This one has an electric motor (Some of the wiring has been up-dated)
And can also be worked from the treadle (In the event of a power cut)..

Re: Rare vintage sewing machine-for sale
A lovely piece of British engineering - I love the footrest for the left foot........I guess the right foot just had to bear the fatigue.
Dunno about a market for this sort of stuff though. Once enclosed it just becomes a piece of brown furniture and no-one wants that these days.
There is a museum in York called 'the castle museum' and they display all kinds of household items from bygone days, many are on long-term loan from individuals and often a plaque will say who the item belongs to (a nice way of honouring your wife's grannny, maybe?). In reality these items probably never return to their owners since their intrinsic value will be negligible. But as a spectacle for the museum's visitors it might be priceless.
Might be worth a look to see if you have a similar museum on the south coast.
Edit: Unless you get a massive offer then I'd say...........sell sell sell

Re: Rare vintage sewing machine-for sale
There is a shop chain called "Allsaints" their shop windows are full of rows and rows of old sewing machines
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.
