Hi all, I patch plastered a small area of my kitchen today ( between the worktop and wall unit ) how long do you recommend before I tile over the plaster, I've read that you should really give it 28 days for new plaster, does this apply to patch plaster - the deepest bits are only about 5 mm most is less than this. I could really do with getting the tiling done within a week.
Cheers.

Re: Tiling over patch plaster
Once it has dried to a light pink. Backing plaster is not suitable if it is a large patch.

Re: Tiling over patch plaster
Depends on the adhesive.
Normally a tubbed adhesive will be straight on, but not always the case.
Cement based (bagged) will need priming or cross priming first.
Never use PVA as this will reactivate when the adhesive is applied and can cause failure of the bonding of tiles to wall.
Always use a specific primer as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
