Tiling pattern advice

I'm getting ready to tile the sower cubicle and thought I was going to stagger the tiles (not sure if thats the correct term, but have one tile in the centre then the centre of the tile above in the centre and so on). I've done the floor in a grid format and now I'm thinking it might look stupid. What's normally done, do I copy the floor and go for a grid, or does it matter?

If the tiles for the shower are square then I would do them as per the floor and not stagger the joints.

No, they are rectangle approx 460 x 230. Think I'll just go grid!

rectangle would look fine staggered if you lay them horizontally.

and if they're a different size to the floor, the grout lines won't match up anyway, even if you go grid, so it really doesn't matter. Maybe lay some out on a floor and see what they look like in grid and staggered. Might be easier to make up your mind once you see them.

Also, be aware that by laying tiles in a brick bond fashion, whether they be staggered or true brick bond, the tiles will show off their bowing more than they would if laid square.

Will still look nice, but you may notice a few corners sticking up further than usual!

P.S, those tiles look like one of ours :P

Thanks for the replies. Excuse my lack of knowledge but what is brick bond fashion and true brick bond? What is the best lay out to ge them even an flat (in laymans terms lol)

Brick bond = staggered, i.e. as you would lay bricks in a wall.
