can't watch dvd's on laptop

Post by The Weegie »

Hi guys, My son is wanting to watch the star wars movies ( a copy) through windows media player. However when he plays it he only gets sound. :dunno:

Any ideas as to why there is no picture. Is there another video player that i could install onto laptop.

My son can watch it on tv through dvd player.
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

Xp doesn't have DVD codecs for video play back, which is likely why you don't have video.

Check you don't have some other software like powerdvd or similar.

If not, you can buy a codec or the free, best option is to download and use VLC

its VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source ... http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
