How to work for free

Post by speed »

Nice and simple

Grab a nice 3.6m white oak hand rail measure 3170 between Newal posts, measure again then measure with the laser measure just to make sure, make the top cut then take the handrail outside to spin round to get the bottom cut, mark the bottom cut at 3070 and cut with out double checking :cb

Then spend a hour + getting a replacement paying for it ::b

Sounds like a cack old day mate - can't you keep the handrail and use it somewhere else maybe?

Turn it into a chunky picture frame - would suit someones features like John Prescott, give him a slimming effect. He might pay '000's for it!!!

i often make silly mistakes usually when i am working on 2 or 3 projects at once
made a drawer unit that had to be an exact size forgot to deduct the side thickness from the equasion[2x21mm]
hadnt made the drawers but had glued and pined the back panel in position luckily when i removed the 42mm from all the spacers and the back panel a bit off glue and a few screws and plugs you couldn't see the alteration

you know when ya have to faff about with moulded doors? cutting the side rails out to reduce the width etc etc...

i had to take of half an inch of both sides of a glazed one a while back. got distracted talking to a lass i know (as usual with me haha) went back to what i was doing. cut an inch of each side didnt i haha... built the whole thing back up let the glue set. took it back in and my mate started laughing as soon as he saw the door. i was like whats up with that daft ****???? i soon realised when the door went straight through the opening past the stop laths :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
