Basic Accountancy software

I'm looking for basic accountancy software, free or cheap. Can anyone recommend one please?

I'm not sure if it's quite what you need but I did find a free spreadsheet on the HMRC website which is ideal for logging income and expenditure. It would have the final page set out to do all the maths for your tax return.
unfortunately, I have just had a quick peek for it and cant find it - IIRC I did have to search quite a bit for it.

I use sage personally although it depends on what you want to spend I guess.

Here are a few examples whereby add ons can help you with invoicing and admin

- Xero
- Kashflow

Both online and will do quotes and invoices and even email credit control

I use Sage but then I am an accountants after all. The above two are much better for what you do.

I use Kashflow and it is very good and is constantly being developed. Being web based it also works from any sort of device, tablet, pc, Windows or Mac.

Another vote for Sage from me.

I use Sage Instant Accounts and Sage Instant Payroll.

Does everything I could ever want and very easy to use/understand. I pay for the Instant Payroll annual support, which gives you the yearly upgrade for the new tax year.

Fairly basic book keeping software but does the job and best of all is free!! :)

GnuCash is the only one I've heard (many times, long time) of and since I'd be entrusting my financial history (and future?) to it, I'd be inclined to learn my way around it. But at 107Mb download, I'll not be learning the ropes until I really need it.
