Depends on what/where the warranty is from.
A couple of years back I'd have LOTS of the exact numbers of sales vs claims, costs, payouts etc - I reckon 5 is too low. It's a big gamble though at the end of it, the costs have to form part of the margins of the product - better products carrying the worse ones, etc.
Quite interesting reading, if not in a really boring way.
Obviously in it to make money as they are certainly not charities (actually, don't get me started on charities.....)
