Mousepad thingy on laptop..

Post by wine~o »

Left click and right click buttons OK, cursor moves as it should, but when you tap the pad (Say to view a link) it doesn't work.

I've had a look round in control panel but nothing obvious in there..

Any ideas or is it fooked ??

(Win 7 if it makes any difference..)

'Tapping' is disabled. Depends on the touchpad driver you have installed as to how it gets enabled again.

What's changed? Have you reinstalled (no driver), updated a driver (driver defaults changed), dooshed it up (needs new user)?

Try clicking start and typing mouse and see what tabs you have up there. Most common is a red icon, with synaptics - look in here for all sorts of stuff. Failing that, the other tabs may yield some positive results.

Also, next to the clock on the task bar - click the arrow to show all the icons, you might find it there. Hover the moose over them to see what they are.

:huray: Big thanks BillyGoat, I hadn't updated any drivers or altered anything (That I was aware of anyway)

I'd already tried the other stuff you suggested, but there was indeed an icon by the clock called "Synaptics pointing device"

Clicked in there and checked the "tap to click" box and all is well in Wine~o world again..
