Wow, it's looking fantastic. The big doors rather than the window is stunning. And I love the tiles.

Re: Kitchen project inc. 1 wall in and 1 wall out
Thanks for the comments. We're really happy that we went for the doors now they're in. We were going to wait but I think we made the right choice. The plasterers will be here in the morning to skim and then the tiler has assured us that he'll be completely finish by end of play on Friday.
This means that we can have the kitchen delivered on Monday and start getting some units in.
Woohoo!

It's a beautiful morning in Melton Mowbray!
The tiler was here until about 10.30 last night trying to get finished before the kitchen comes on Monday.
The grouting always amazes me how much difference it makes. Really happy with the finished job on the flirting and the doors!

Re: Kitchen project inc. 1 wall in and 1 wall out
Just finished getting the brackets fitted in the pantry for the shelves. Just dry fitted for now to check all was ok.
I've not got enough height to angle the top shelf in so I'll remove one side once the mrs is here to hold the shelf up whilst I screw it back on with the shelf held above it.
A sophisticated mathematical equation was used to work out the spacings. I will try to explain it as best as I can with a photograph.................,..
Little bit of painting and filling tomorrow before the shelfs can be permanently installed.

Thanks. They're both integrated. Fridge/freezer also. We weren't going to tile all the way back at first but the tiles will long outlast anything else we do in their so thought it best to just get them down whilst the room was empty.

If you haven't already, you may want to check the available space behind the integrated appliances. You might find that the waste pipe is going to be in the way.

Thanks for the heads up. That was always at the back of my mind. Not really sure what else to do with them though, even if they are. Everything is being delivered tomorrow so we'll see when we try to fit them I guess :-(

That's what I was thinking but darrenba beat me to it. You will have to try and reroute them mate or your doors wont line up.
If you cant then you could fit a wider worktop . Good luck with the fit

Re: Kitchen project inc. 1 wall in and 1 wall out
Oh dear. There is no other route. :-/
That's a party wall and the only drain is out the back; the way it's going now. Even if I re route them, surely the u bend and upright still need to be there? And they're the same depth as the waste going across the wall?
How else would you get the waste out?

You may need to lower the pipe. Once the appliances arrive you'll have a better idea of space behind them. Usually there's a gap low down that should be OK for the pipe. What's the pipe going to outside? Is it just an open gully? You may want to put a post in the plumbing section to see what some of the seasoned plumbers have to say.
