Tile Arrangement

Hello,

I'm wondering if some of the experts can help me choose a good layout for me tiling my bathroom floor.

My tiles are 60x30 (which in reality is 59.4 x29.5)




The bottom of the door frame is around 69cm.

I like the idea of doing a staggered arrangement to break up any forced long lines, in such a small space. But I can't seem to work out a good layout that doesn't give me stupid off cuts horizontally between the wall and the bath.

On a diagonal can look good in small spaces - better with square tiles though.

Hi,

It depends if you what to give it contemporary look, doing a brick pattern would be best for your large tiles. Don't forget, what you cut off from one side u will be able to use on the other side of the next row. I notice you have the tiles butted up against the wall, professional tilers won't do this and center the tiles so both sides are cut as walls never run true so the tiles will look like they are running off at an angle.

Not to keen on the diagonal, as I would have to cut every tile into a square.

RE: butted up against the wall - I'm planning on leaving a 10mm space (wall tile) + 3mm spacer... That's the correct way right?

What he means is messure and mark the center if the room and start tiling away from it so all the cuts will be made on tiles next to the wall

Also will look better in the eye when finished

ah I see. So flip the arrangement of what I've done above around, so the thin cuts are by the wall and not the bath panel.

The bath is irrelevant. It only matters if you end up with a ridiculous rip of tile before the panel.

Set it out to centre of door opening and see what rip that gives you to the left hand and right hand walls.

The focal point of that room is drawing you from the door opening down to the window.
