Angie took it to the post office and they wanted £14 to deliver it, so she brought it home and booked it through Mr Hermes, which was about £4 but now she has to drop it off at the shop

Thought wine~o won second prize ie £50...

I was stuck for cash this month, so it was in copper coins

When I was self employed, one of the contractors I was working for, paid us all cash at the end of the week. One Friday he handed round the envelopes (which seemed rather thin) On opening them we all found we'd been paid in £50 notes. Managed to get mine changed (kindly shopkeeper) On the Monday, one lad said to the gaffer "Don't pay me in £50 notes ever again, as I had great trouble changing them." Following Friday, the gaffer comes round and we all had £20 notes, apart from the one lad who'd complained. He got a bag full of £1 coins,,,,,,,, about £500 worth. Gaffer told him, if he complained on Monday, then he'd get 50p's the following week.
