Re: Another Antivirus Question, plz
I am already having nightmares
The pc has now slowed down. each time I click on a link etc, there is a long delay, then a message appears: ....timed out. If this happens again, contact ...
I have decided to spend the £29.99 (half price) and renew the Norton software. Trouble is avg has changed browser settings Looks like damage has already been done

Re: Another Antivirus Question, plz
AVG won't have changed any browser settings unless you ticked a box saying "change this or that"

Re: Another Antivirus Question, plz
wine~o, I kept getting this message every time I clicked on a link/page:
Temporary Error
Operation timed out. Please try again. If the problem persists, please check your network settings.
REALLY
I did click on something without thinking, which resulted in the browser settings being changed. Sites that I could just get signed into without password etc dissapeared?
Have done a computer reset and choosed a period two weeks back and can now move and click abouts with more ease and no delays Hope it lasts

Re: Another Antivirus Question, plz
If you've ended up with AVG and Norton and possibly even MS Security Essentials all installed at the same time then you're going to see a lot of problems.kintangoman wrote:I am already having nightmares

Don't waste £30 on Norton. You're far better off to uninstall all your A/V software (recommend you use the uninstaller/remover that Norton and others publish for their software rather than just add/remove programs in control panel), then start again from scratch with just MSSE.

Re: Another Antivirus Question, plz
I use Avast anti virus http://www.avast.com/en-gb/index in conjunction with Comodo Firewall. Avast has for the last 2 years been reliable for me and does not seem to hog much system resources. Also it is free.
Hope this helps
