USB 3

Just bought a new usb 3 hub, got fed up with the 'this device can work faster with usb 3' message all the time, but I also noticed a few usb 3 connecting cables for sale.

Are these just snake oil, and any old usb lead will do, or is it like cat 5 and cat 6 network cable?

If so would there be any benefit using these cables?
