Stupid drivers

Post by BillyGoat »

Missis has just sent me a message, some stupid woman has scuffed all of our car while in a car park.

If you can't get your car out of a F****** parking space without hitting someone elses, then you shouldn't be driving - FACT.

:cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Got to say that driving standards have dropped significantly over the years - I wonder if it has anything to do with the same drop in education standards in the same period? Probably lots of foreigners making the statistics head the wrong way too.

Or is it just women drivers (.... heads for the hills before the onslaught happens......)
Don't take it personally......

I see people who can't reverse into a parking space on a daily basis..quite scary really, they drive "Into" a space at silly angles..then spend 10 minutes trying to get out coz they can't reverse...

Spoke to the missis and what happened was the woman in her roller skate Yaris drove down a gap blatently too small on the wrong side of the road - she should have waited. Hit the mirror and scraped all down her own car, then tried to drive off......she didn't even know she had hit anything

Missis got out and ran after her screaming and got her name, address and number plus a witness who saw it all and couldn't believe it - very smart.

She's only just started driving some 25 years after passing her test and gave the missis a sob story - tough sh*t, pay up and get it sorted or get insurance involved. :angryfire:

Yep similar thing happen to my wife a few years back, this guy was trying to parallel park when he hit the accelerator instead of the brake, smash into our car and smashed the headlight and dented the corner of the panel and we know how much of a bitch that is to repair. The guy tried to drive off and smashed into the car In front and got stuck, fortunately a police car went by and my wife waved them down, so the guy spoke very basic one word English, however fortunately was insured. But he wanted to claim outside insurance say you fix I pay, sorry mate my fix car insurance pay, stuff that.

BG, you forgot to mention the "whiplash" injury your missus received. Your own personal trauma at receiving the text message (which now affects your ability to follow your chosen profession) and the psychological damage to your dog/cat/budgie (delete as appropriate)

That comment shows what a bad driver you are then.

1) You should not drive "in a sort hurry to get somewhere" as its dangerous.

2) The person in front may be looking for a specific house / number.

3) The posted speed limit signs are just that, the LIMIT, they don't mean that you must drive at that speed.

4) All that speeding ever does is get you to the traffic lights quicker and you have to wait (No doubt getting annoyed) But if drive slightly slower you will arrive just as they change so you carry on by, AND you don't get annoyed.

How true fin. I was taking someone on a hospital visit last Thursday. Travelling along the A52 towards Nottingham, the speed limit is 70 (dual carriageway) All of a sudden, there's a lorry in the outside lane, overtaking a car, who could only be travelling at 50. As lorries are limited to 56, it took the driver some time to pass the car.

I failed my driving test at the first attempt " failure to make correct use of the forward gears" (or something like that), according to my instructor, who later said that if he'd ever thought anyone was a dead cert to pass it was me, the phrase basically means not going fast enough, apparently in my desire to be careful during the test I overcompensated and was only doing about 25 in a 30 limit area.

I've seen recommendations by the police that you should be doing no less than 10% below the limit (in good conditions)

It certainly boils my urine where we have 60 limits on the main roads in my area (with very limited overtaking opportunities) that plenty of old codgers still drive at 35 - 40, they do that speed everywhere - even when it changes down to 40 and then 30.
One day it will all be firewood.

Anyone driving in a manner that may cause another person to be distracted or have to take avoiding action or cause unnecessary stress should be cautioned/fined. This covers drivers who drive so slowly that they create potential risk-taking maneouvres in others.

It is, actually, an offence to travel TOO slowly......

IMHO there should be NO speed limits and the law should relate to "driving without due regard to the road conditions prevailing at that time". This will allow police to fine those who do 40 in a 40 limit IF (for example) it's p1ssing down/foggy etc......even doing 30 in a 30 zone can be dangerous under some circumstances..... but also allow someone to do 120mph on an empty motorway at 3am.
Don't take it personally......
