Is this wall suitable for tiling?

Post by Marmot »

Hi all,

I'm redoing my bathroom and planning to tile the entire room with 330x250 ceramic tiles on the walls (8mm deep).

The bathroom is approx 2m x 2m sq. Height 2.6m

2 walls are solid masonary.

2 of the other walls are partitions.

I'e drilled through one of the partitions and I've attached a picture.

Is this what they call a mesh lath wall? Is it suitable for the tiles I have planned.

Thank you in advance.

I would just look into over boarding with cement based board the hole looks rather big with a cavity behind...

Thanks Tictic, once again ;).

The whole is permanent though. It's for an overflow pipe which goes under and around the bathtub. This is from the corner of the bathroom.

I've got some smaller holes which I've removed wall plugs from. But some of the plaster has come off around the hole.
